This breakfast series honors survivors of breast and ovarian cancers, domestic violence, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We partner with experts in each area to provide relevant information that assists our survivors with fully living life moving forward. At the end of each breakfast, guests are provided with a list of social services and organizations that support their recovery journey.
Now in its sixth year, hundreds of survivors across the Houston-area have been honored. And with the help of past partners such as the Houston Texans, Whole Foods, and Chrysler Jeep, we are overjoyed that we are able to accommodate the growing number of participants.
The Katherine’s Breakfast for Survivors is named after Katherine Robinson, the grandmother of Karena Poke, founder of Urban Philanthropy. Mrs. Robinson lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2010.
